So…
Right now I’ve been realizing that winterterm sucks. Outside of Emily, who doesn’t always want to see me, none of my friends are here. Well, actually, Jay’s here, but he’s got frat stuff. But the rest of the crew is no where around. Even the VA folks went up to NJ…again.
So, with five days before I go to Japan, I’m sitting here, staring at my monitor on a saturday night, wondering where my life is going. Julie might read this and tell me I’m doing that quarterlife crisis thing again, but I dunno.
I don’t like being alone. It’s no fun. I can deal with it for a while, but sooner or later it comes down to this…there are very few good activities that you can do by yourself. You can’t talk to yourself without funny looks. It’s no good to eat by yourself at a restaurant, or play pool by yourself, or play Smash Brothers alone. You can’t really even go to a bar by yourself, can you? I mean, who will you talk to early on – everyone else is there with a friend but you.
I mean, it would be different if it was my choice to be alone, I could get that – then it would be voluntary. But mandatory self-ness is awful…
