We’ve got a gang of clueless bozos steering our ship of state right over a cliff, we’ve got corporate gangsters stealing us blind, and we can’t even clean up after a hurricane much less build a hybrid car. But instead of getting mad, everyone sits around and nods their heads when the politicians say, “Stay the course.”
Stay the course? You’ve got to be kidding. This is America, not the damned Titanic. I’ll give you a sound bite: Throw the bums out!

Finally, I got a fix for a bunch of slowdowns I’d been seeing – turns out Vista has something called “Receive Window Auto-Tuning.”
This is really smart – except most hardware out there is still dumb. As soon as I found this site and followed the directions, I was in like Flynn.
Make sure you’re running as an Administrator (can open a command window as Administrator) and execute the following command at the prompt:
“netsh interface tcp set global autotuning=disabled”
Changing “disabled” to “normal” will re-enable this setting, should you want to turn it back on again. The following command will list the status of the current TCP settings:
“netsh interface tcp show global”
So, some of you know that I’ve recently been looking for a new place to store my money. I had been with ING for a while, but when I heard about SavingsAccounts.com I ended up moving my money over to HSBC.
Why is SavingsAccounts.com so useful? First, you can check out all the rates on the web at once, from all the major banks – ING, HSBC, CitiBank, Bank of America, and so forth. Second, they’ve got a great list of financial articles on their resources page, and they have plenty of good information there. Finally, they’ve taken the time to make the page simple and easy to use without having a lot of extraneous junk – you can see what you’re looking for on the site right away.
Oh, and the little piggy bank logo is pretty cute, too.

I AM NOT MAKING THIS UP. I am all about protecting reproductive choice…but seriously, NOW-lady, that was the wrong place to make your point. Although I suppose people are now making a point about it, and it’s definitely a way to convince Justice Thomas to agree with your point.
Philadelphia has put a lot of energy, lately, into making areas that were originally city centers into beautiful parks. Logan Square (which is a circle) has been completely redone, and they’re improving the Aviator Park directly in front of the Franklin Institute as part of that.
Well, today I learned that Franklin Square, which is near the Ben Franklin Bridge and is apparently part of the Independence National Park area, has been improved as well, with two playgrounds, a carousel, and…MINI GOLF!
