Ski Trip to Yuzawa (Feb. 25 2006)
This was absolutely amazing. Khahn and I went out by Shinkansen to the Green Plaza Hotel at Joetsu Kokusai .
We got there on Friday morning, checked in, rented equipment and went right out onto the mountain. I skiied the first day, so it was pretty easy to get around. The second day, learning to snowboard (but looking cool) was much tougher and much more painful. Both days, though, the weather was amazing – the first day was colder but not so sunny, and the second was comfortable and very sunny. The snow was great on both days, though – falling in powder is much nicer than falling on ice. There was also a super excellent onsen which has given me great appreciation for hot baths.
